TAGÜR FOOTWEAR
The story began the day we were able to grip a marker but the formation of the company started much more recently. We tag our personal property as a way to customize it and stray from universal conformity. We bomb walls and trains to elevate our sense of self. We are surrounded by ordinary items, but we are not ordinary people.

The never-ending wave of new sneaker enthusiasts are showing us that the desire to be unique and exclusive is not just in the cities and on the streets. It runs deep. Coast to coast, from Los Angeles to Long Island. Berlin to Burlington. Our sneakers are one of the few pieces of fashion that we can alter significantly to show our style. Lace them tight or not at all, colored or fat, tongues in or out, clean or custom... and if you are like us, you have toothbrushes for every pair.

It seemed to us that the sneaker world hit a plateau after the millenium. The game was locked on retro kicks and reissued models. Things were growing stagnant and played out so we turned to more traditional creative methods through markers, paint, sharpies and dyes. We reverted back to artistic expression over limited mass production. In essence, we began to write on our shoes again and create for ourselves rather than waiting for something inspiring from the corporations.

The attention that our sneakers got is what prompted the development of TAGÜR. We wanted to create a quality shoe that allows the consumer to become the producer.

It is for those individuals, seeking originality and distinction, that we present the TAGÜR AKA.
